Luminex & xMAP Technology

Luminex Products & Services from Expression Analysis
SERVICES NOW AVAILABLE

Luminex microspheresxMAP® technology from Luminex is based on microspheres that are internally dyed with two spectrally distinct fluorochomes.  By changing the relative amounts of the two dyes, one hundred unique sets of microsphere beads are generated that can be spectrally distinguished.  Different oligonucleotides can be linked to different microsphere sets and then combined for multiplex assays.  The oligo-coupled beads are hybridized to labeled RNA samples for expression profiling or DNA targets for genotyping.  A third fluorochrome coupled to the RNA or DNA target quantifies the degree of hybridization at the microsphere surface.

Luminex services with xMAP technology

Expression Analysis supports the following applications of Luminex products:

Expression Profiling on Focused Sets of Genes

Quantify dozens of transcripts in a single well using custom assays or pre-developed reagents from Panomics, which amplify the reporter signal using branched DNA technology

Genotyping on Focused Sets of DNA Polymorphisms

Identify dozens of genotypes using pre-developed or custom assays based on xMAP® technology

microRNA Expression Profiling using FlexmiR™ Assays

Quantify microRNA using FlexmiR™ assays, which combine xMAP® technology with Locked Nucleic Acids™ from Exiqon

FlexmiR Assays

Additional Luminex applications are available  upon request.
