microRNA

microRNAs (miRNAs) are small single stranded non-coding RNAs that play an important role in post-transcriptional gene silencing and regulation of more than one-third of human genes. They are known to modulate several key processes in cells including development, differentiation, proliferation, and apoptosis in animals, plants and viruses. miRNA profiling has led to several important discoveries, including expression signatures for certain cancers and heart disease. EA supports isolation procedures that co-purify both miRNA and total RNA, or separate enrich fractions of each.  With as little as 100 ng of total RNA, Expression Analysis can provide complete differential expression profiles using robust and highly sensitive microarrays.
