RNA Isolation

Whole Genome to Focused Set Services:

The purification of intact, undegraded RNA is critical for obtaining the highest quality expression profiling data.  Our procedures allow for the isolation of the most intact RNA given the condition of the submitted biological material.  We isolate RNA from flash-frozen, RNAlater preserved, and FFPE material, as well as whole blood specimens stabilized in PAXgene™ Blood RNA Tubes or Tempus™ Blood RNA Tubes.

To date we have performed RNA purifications from a wide variety of tissue and cell sources including adipose tissue, bone marrow aspirates, brain, cervix, flow cytometry separated cells, heart, jejunum, keratinocytes, liver, lung, mammary, pancreas, PBMC pellets, whole blood, and skin.

Formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded (FFPE) tissues, whole blood, and buccal samples are some of the most challenging samples for obtaining high quality, non-degraded RNA. Expression Analysis has a proven track record in obtaining sufficient high quality RNA for analysis from clinical samples both in collaboration with and for submission to the FDA.  Expression Analysis uses the FormaPure Isolation Kit from Agencourt Biosciences to simultaneously isolate RNA and DNA from 10-micron sections of FFPE tissue.
