Expression Analysis Expands Sales Force and Launches New Website

Durham, NC – January 19, 2005 – To meet the demands of its continuing growth, Expression Analysis (EA), the industry's leading provider of Affymetrix GeneChip® brand microarray services for clinical trials, has hired a new director of sales and business development.

As director of sales and business development, Jim Parina brings with him a wealth of experience from the biotechnology and pharmaceutical industries. Formerly, he was a pharmaceutical business development manager at Applied Biosystems and a sales manager at Perkin-Elmer. Having begun his career in the Clinical Chemistry Laboratory at the University of Rochester Strong Memorial Hospital, he understands the roles of the laboratory in providing high quality information and outstanding service. Jim's initial focus will be on new client and client support efforts on the East Coast.

“We are extremely fortunate to have Jim join the Expression Analysis team,” said EA President and CEO Steve McPhail. “His experience and the strong relationships he's built within the industry will allow us to continue fostering our customer-focused culture and aggressively expand our market share to support future uses of microarray technologies.”

In describing his new position, Jim said, “My role at Expression Analysis is two-fold: to help expand and deepen EA's position in the marketplace and to support EA's existing customer base through direct contact with customers in which I will make sure that we continue to understand their needs and offer them the most appropriate solutions.”

Founded in 2001, Expression Analysis specializes in gene expression, genotyping and resequencing using Affymetrix GeneChip® brand microarray technology. Its GLP-and CLIA-compliant (February 2005) laboratory advances genomic science by providing start-to-finish microarray contract testing that features high-throughput, high-quality and cost-effective results in a regulatory compliant (CFR Part 58) environment.

Further reflecting its growth, Expression Analysis has launched a new and improved Web site that provides expanded information and interactive resources. The site offers visitors a dynamic and consistent look to EA's expanding pharmaceutical and biotechnology markets. The site (www.expressionanalysis.com), was developed by Pikaboo Design (www.pikaboodesign.com) and is hosted and managed by VisionPoint Media (www.visionpointmedia.com).

“Our new Web site reflects our continued growth, both in products offered and in marketplace presence,” said Steve Casey, EA's founder and chief operating officer. “Our new look and feel, and our content base, offer a strong customer-centric and responsive context in which we can continue to expand our services in regulated markets such as clinical trials, drug development and clinical diagnostics.”
