Expression Analysis, Inc. Hires Quality Assurance Director

Durham, NC – September 21, 2006 – Expression Analysis (EA), a full-service microarray testing, analysis and data management organization, has hired Raisa Lowe as Director of Quality Assurance. Raisa will be responsible for the implementation and management of quality initiatives at Expression Analysis, including continued compliance to Good Laboratory Practices (GLP), Good Clinical Practices (GCP) and compliance with the Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendment (CLIA).   

As Director of Quality Assurance, Raisa will also hold the responsibilities of writing, reviewing, and maintaining Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and laboratory protocols, maintaining equipment calibration, inspection and testing reports, reviewing laboratory batch records, and conducting pre-, mid-, and post- audits to assure data quality and integrity for final reporting.

Raisa comes to Expression Analysis with over nineteen years of experience in the biopharmaceutical industry.  She has held quality assurance and compliance positions with such companies as Wellstat Biologics and Therapeutics, Diosynth RTP, Inc. (formerly Covance Biotechnology Services) and Compliance Quest, Inc.  Raisa's extensive experience includes the implementation and maintenance of quality systems, preparation and evaluation of IND, NDA, and BLA submissions, along with the development and presentation of quality systems, batch records, and process validation programs to regulatory agencies.  Raisa's education includes a B.S. in Biology from the Interamerican University of Puerto Rico and a M.S. in Biotechnology from Johns Hopkins University.
