arrayCGH for Copy Number Variation
Dr. Reid is an invited member of the Microarray Research Group (MARG) within the Association of Biomedical Resource Facilities, which performs annual research projects to assess technological and analytical advancements. The 2007 MARG research project compared results from five arrayCGH platforms. Dr. Reid presented the results of this study at the Discovery-2-Diagnostics conference in September 2007.

Alternative Labeling Protocols for Challenging Specimens
Expression Analysis has collaborated with NuGEN Technologies to confirm the utility of the RiboSPIA labeling method on several challenging specimens, including limited RNA samples, whole blood, and formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded tissues.

Globin RNA Reduction Protocols
RNA isolated from whole blood specimens contains an abundance of globin RNA transcripts, which may reduced sensitivity in microarray expression studies. As a beta test site, Expression Analysis demonstrated the usefulness of an alternative protocol from Affymetrix and PreAnalytiX that relies on peptide nucleic acid oligomers to reduce globin transcripts in blood-derived specimens.
