xMAP technology from Luminex and Marligen Biosciences requires smaller amounts of sample DNA and allows higher throughput of samples for SNP genotyping. Specific assays are available for detecting polymorphisms and gene variants for a variety of health and nutritional conditions, including heart disease, obesity, insulin sensitivity, bone health, inflammation, Alzheimer’s and thrombosis, as well as Cyp450 genes. In addition, genotyping of male-specific markers on the Y chromosome for identity testing, population genetics and ancestry studies is available.
