Expression Analysis offers Biorepository Services for the long term storage and management of nucleic acid specimens and specimens from which nucleic acid isolation is expected in our GLP and CLIA supported laboratory.
Laboratory Inventory Management System (LIMS)
All laboratory activities are recorded in our Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS) that tracks the freezer location of all specimens at EA. In addition, a paper record is also maintained that tracks the location of all specimens in inventory.
Monitoring and Emergency Backup
All -80oC freezers at EA are monitored by an alarm system that provides a telephone alert when the freezers are out of their specified range. All refrigerators and freezers are also connected to a centralized electronic monitoring computer, the output is monitored each morning and any out of specification readings are documented. The majority of our equipment, including all refrigerators and freezes, is connected to a backup generator (which is tested on a weekly basis). All critical equipment is also connected to uninterrupted power supplies (UPS).
Chain of Custody
Expression Analysis has a CLIA guided process to meet the rigorous specimen logistics requirements associated with clinical trials providing validated chain-of-custody for these critical samples.
Scheduled Vendor Maintenance
Expression Analysis invests in scheduled vendor maintenance of all essential laboratory equipment (including freezers). In addition EA contracts with an outside vendor (PerkinElmer) for yearly validation and calibration services, all activities and results are documented as part of our quality system.
