The scientists at Expression Analysis are active participants on several committees devoted to the development of standards and best practices for genomic assays. These initiatives improve data quality and extend the utility of microarrays. Standards will also be required for the application of genomic data into the regulated environments of drug development and diagnostics.

MicroArray Quality Control (MAQC) Project   

Expression Analysis was an official data analysis site.  Dr. Reid led the main manuscript preparation team and wrote the note on nomenclature.  Dr. Jones provided key insights and performed much of the data analysis in the main manuscript.|

Standards Program

Only service provider to participate in all of the Best Practices Working Groups coordinated by Affymetrix, including blood, tumor data analysis, formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded tissues.

External RNA Controls Consortium (ERCC)

Dr. Reid is co-chair of the Testing Subcommittee and corresponding author on the Test Plan Publication.

Clinical & Laboratory Standards Institute (CLSI, formerly NCCLS)

Dr. Reid was an author of the MM16-A guideline, “Use of External RNA Controls in Gene Expression Assays”.

Clinical & Laboratory Genomic & Genetic Standards

Dr. Reid is an invited member of this international consortium.
