Performance Characterization of the PacBio RS Sequencer: A Case Study Using E. coli.

Overview: A small set of bacterial strains have been sequenced using the PacBio RS Single Molecule Real-Time Sequencer. These data sets were used to establish performance benchmarks for the system with regard to yield of sequence data per SMRT cell, variability in sequence yield, as well as accuracy and coverage metrics against the reference sequences for each genome. Our findings will be presented with a focus on understanding how to apply this knowledge towards new projects.
